Topic: 16 Bit Support For Image Analyzer?

Hi.

Can Image Analyzer handle 16*3 bit colour images in any way?
I tried to open a 48 bit TIF image, but it showed up as garbage.

If not, implementing 16 bits / colour in image analyzer would make me support meesoft with a donation!

Thanks for a very interesting product.

Re: 16 Bit Support For Image Analyzer?

Implementing 16 bit color image support is a huge project, because it would mean I had to rewrite all the image processing functions, and there are many! There is support for 16 bit grayscale images, but even that is limited because I only made 16 bit versions of a few of the features.
As long as it is free software I don't make money on, I usually only implement features I need for some project.

Ok, I understand. Is there support for 16 bit grayscale images for deconvolution (in that case I could decompose the colour image to 3 grayscale images and process them one by one)?

I believe that deconvolution of blurred images gives much better results if the source images are 16 bits per colour. I might be wrong though since I haven't tested.

Yes, the deconvolution works on 16 bit grayscale pictures. And yes, this does indeed give better quality of the result than 8-bit grayscale.
