Topic: 0 Kb Size Files

Just downloaded the upgrade.
Hope it helps my experience of some graphics,
when adjusted then saved creates a 0 Kb file.
Then the original graphic no longer exists.

Re: 0 Kb Size Files

What version of Image Analyzer did you use?
Did it display an error message when saving?
Which file format did you save to?

Re: 0 Kb Size Files

Version 1.14
Opening JPG and Saving to JPG,
Opening BMT and saving to JPG.

Error message, yes, I believe so, but can't find the information right now.
If that can be a help, I'll try to duplicate it for you before I upgrade.

Re: 0 Kb Size Files

Thank you for the info.
If upgrading fixes the problem then it's fine,
but if you can reproduce it with the new version
I would really like to know what error message you get.
Right now I can only think of one situation where this
error could occur:

If you save to a disk with insufficient space.

But anyway: If you ever get an error message when saving a file,
then there is a risk that the old file was destroyed.

That goes for all programs, not only Image Analyzer.

Re: 0 Kb Size Files

You wanted to know what error message was given when Image Analyzer
created a 0 Kb file when a file was saved.
Image Analyzer 1.14.
JPG error #36

The file had been created by scanning a 35mm slide with
Nikon Coolscan LS 2000 and saved as JPG.
The files are usually 10 to 20 MB in size and when looked
at and saved by Image Analyzer (or other programs)
creates a file 1 to 2 MB is size depending on amount of
information in the image.

This doesn't happen every time, but often enough to keep me from
using it on this work station. It doesn't happen at home on Win98se.
This workstation is a Dell Dim. 4500, WinXP, with almost all updates.

I won't upgrade Image Analyzer until you respond in case you want
me to do any tests.

Re: 0 Kb Size Files

Then you can upgrade right away.
The JPEG error #36 is a known error which was fixed a few versions ago. wink
