Topic: Please add user selectable palette to the 24bit-to-8bit mode convert

When you convert 24bpp image to 8bitpp, it pops up a box allowing you to select the "dithering" method (Burkes, Floyd Steinberg, etc). What it doesn't let you do is to pick the method by which it chooses a palette to use, nor does it let you select your own palette if you already have a palette file you want to use. Do you think you can add support for converting using premade PAL files?

Actually you can do that already, but without dithering. If you select Operation | Color correction | Import palette... it will convert your image to 8bitpp using the palette you specify.

Awesome. thanks for the info.

Do you suppose though you'll be able to add any of these features to what you already have?

1) Dithering for user made palettes (Burkes, Floyd Steinburg, and square pattern)
2) Support 16 color palettes (and thus a 16 color mode)

16 color mode is easy - just make a palette that only contains 16 different colors... Only problem is of cause that the image will still be saved as bitpp.

I mostly use IA for photo editing so low color modes is probably not something I will focus on
