Topic: Making a template

If I make a bitmap cartoon of something with
a text balloon that I import into Diagram
Designer and then want to use as a template,
what do I have to do to make the text balloon
into a text box so I can just drag the cartoon
from the template panel and type the required
text for the instance concerned into the box?
Rephrasing - how do I make a part of a bitmap
image into a text entry box (for example, like
the text entry box in the default "Flowchart"
template "Site" or "Site Group" images)?

Thanks for any clues.

Re: Making a template

You can put a text object (see toolbar for abc) and group it with your image.
With grouping you can build a complicated symbols.
In the object tree at the left you can see from what a group is made of.

Re: Making a template

I am new here.
I have the same problem as Wobbly - I understood the solution but I want to be able to change the text from the template when pulling it back to the active page (without 'ungroup the elements' first)

Re: Making a template

You don't need to ungroup - you can just right-click on the group and select Edit text or press F2

Re: Making a template

OK, thanks. But it does not work when an object is grouped with two (or more) text-fields (only one can be eddited like mentioned obove). How can I manage this with more text fields?

Re: Making a template

"In the object tree at the left you can see from what a group is made of."
( you can switch the object tree on/off in menu Object, Show object tree )
You will see all the objects, a group has a default name of Group.
If you expand it ( open it by clicking on the + ) you will see the items the group is made of.
You can select one, press F2 ( or right click, Edit text ) and change the text.
But other properties like width/color can also be changed without ungrouping.
