adding simple textures to shapes

I recently found your program.  It's great!  I've been looking for a program like this for years!  I love the straightforward interface, the selection of features, and the ability to customize it.

One thing I couldn't find was an ability to add simple textures to shapes (as you would add a color or gradient color to a shape).  I would like to be able to add cross-hatch pattern, a series of uniformly spaced slanted lines, or a series of dots.  My primary use of the program is for drawing black-and-white diagrams and it would be handy to have some way to add these textures to the diagram shapes, such as rectangles or circles.  Is this possible in the current version or is it possible to add in a future version?
